- Schematic Capture -

Is the process of entering a design from sketches, old prints and new ideas into an electronic database.

From that database the schematic can be printed, and parts list and other doumentation generated.

Most importantly, the schematic can be linked to a printed circuit board layout design database, which ensures the copper traces match the schematic drawing.

Design Input: a simple hand drawn sketch, a scanned print, a pdf file or other graphic image file. Maybe an older circuit board that you want to upgrade to smt, for example. All emails and other files used in the design entry process are preserved and saved as part of the final package.

Design Output: Schematics can be provided in hardcopy form, as an adobe reader pdf, autodesk dxf, or any standard graphic image format such as jpg. Also, there is a free viewer available for the schematic (and pcb) design database files - see the link bar below.
